Voice Recognition for MacIntosh For the last few years, the only available Voice Recognition system for the MacIntosh, has been a program called iListen. The recognition was not very good, but it was the best way to dictate into the Mac. Within the last year, the same company abandoned iListen, and bought the rights to pull over parts of the the Dragon NaturallySpeaking engine. A few months ago, MacSpeech updated to a new version, which has pulled over more functionss of the Dragon engine. This has finally allowed Mac users to use the best available voice recognition software on their equipment. Another very recent addition is MacSpeech pulled over the Legal and Medical vocabularies into seperate respective packages. Beyond dictation, MacSpeech Dictate lets you perform basic navigation of the Mac and control it by voice to launch applications, open new windows, execute menu commands, etc. System Requirements: Intel-based Mac with OS X 10.5.6 (Leopard) or greater. Internet connection required for product registration. MacSpeech-certified noise-cancelling microphone (included with new purchase). Please contact us for current pricing and specials!
