iCommunicator with Naturally Speaking

iCommunicator is a computer program that provides, unique and powerful communication access technology for persons who are deaf and hard-of-hearing, as well as individuals with other unique communication challenges.

The iCommunicator allows effective two way communication to occur in most natural environments. Speakers create a speech/voice profile and then speak into in a microphone plugged into the end user’s computer.  The iCommunicator program efficiently converts what the speaker says, as they say it.  The user will see (as shown to the right), both the speakers words appear on the screen, plus will watch as the animated person in the corner of the screen will deliver American Sign Language (ASL) signs  in English word order (subject+verb+object) to cultivate linkages between written, spoken, and signed words and promote literacy development.

At the same time, the system outputs a clear computerized voice which can be outputted from the computer to peripheral assistive hearing devices such as personal FM systems, hearing aids, and cochlear implant speech processors.

A simple point and click of the iText tool allows end users to have email, web pages, and documents created in other applications signed and/or spoken through the iCommunicator program.

When used on a notebook computer, iCommunicator becomes a portable, interactive solution to communication accessibility challenges in multiple environments

The iCommunicator system makes verbal communication possible between the hearing world and a person who is profoundly deaf, hard-of-hearing, or an individual with communication disabilities.

The iCommunicator helps to satisfy the guidelines of the federal regulations mandating the delivery of assistive or accessible technology for by our public school systems, as well as every other federal or state government agency nationwide.
